  Ach, es ist die schönste Zeit des Jahres! So neigt sich das Jahr 2022 schnell dem Ende zu und Weihnachten steht schon wieder vor der Tür. Für uns alle ist es nun endlich Zeit, uns vorzubereiten: Das Haus schmücken, den Weihnachtsbaum aufstellen und Geschenke einkaufen gehen, das kann jeder von uns nachvollziehen. Ich bin jedoch nicht hier, um über die Dinge zu sprechen, die wir gemeinsam haben, denn dieser Artikel wäre sonst sehr langweilig, sondern darüber, was die Weihnachtszeit in meinem Zuhause ein wenig anders macht als bei euch. Die Antwort? Mein Erbe. Wie die Beschreibung dieses Blogs bereits verrät, bin ich in einem binationalen Haushalt aufgewachsen, mit Eltern, die aus verschiedenen Ländern stammen. Väterlicherseits bin ich Deutsche; er ist in und um Berlin geboren und aufgewachsen, bevor er Mitte der 80er zum ersten Mal nach Chile kam und meine Mutter kennenlernte, so dass er schließlich hier geblieben ist.   ¡Ah, es la época más maravillosa del año! Así de la nada, 2022 está llegando rápidamente a su fin y la Navidad está otra vez a la vuelta de la esquina. Para todos nosotros, por fin es momento de empezar a prepararnos: decorar la casa, instalar el arbolito e ir a comprar regalos es algo con lo que todos y todas podemos identificarnos. Sin embargo, no estoy aquí para hablar de las cosas que tenemos en común, porque entonces este artículo sería sumamente aburrido, sino de lo que hace que la temporada navideña en mi casa sea un poco diferente a cómo es en la de ustedes. ¿La respuesta? Mi herencia. Como ya dice la descripción de este blog, crecí en un hogar binacional, con padres que vienen de países distintos. Por parte de mi padre, soy alemana; nació y se crió en Berlín y sus alrededores antes de llegar a Chile por primera vez a mediados de los 80 y conocer a mi madre, razón por la que finalmente terminó quedándose.   Ah, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! Just like that, 2022 is quickly drawing to a close and Christmas is once again right around the corner. For all of us, it’s finally time to start preparing: decorating the house, putting up the Christmas tree and go shopping for presents is something that all of us can relate to. However, I’m not here to talk about the things we have in common, because this article would be very boring, but about what makes the holiday season in my home a little bit different from yours. The answer? My heritage. As the description of this blog already gives out, I grew up in a binational household, with parents who come from different countries.
